Keep-It-Simple Devo (Wk2/Day1)


Ephesians 3:14-19—For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. (NIV)


We have a family name of our own. Our name carries a certain mojo. What does it make you feel like to know that you carry God’s family name?

What does Paul the Apostle tell us–here in Ephesians–actually gives us power to live by?


Father, thank You for giving me Your Name. To know that we are a part of Your Family gives my heart courage. There are no orphans to Your Spirit or to the Family You give to me, so help me to act like Your daughter/son. I pray, this day, that You might strengthen me to more and more resemble My Father in Heaven. Root and establish me in Your love and in Your Power. In Jesus’ name for the Father’s name, Amen.
