Keep-It-Simple Devo (Wk1/wknd)

On weekends, Live the Truth will post a single daily reading for both Saturday/Sunday. We hope you’ll consider experiencing the teaching of the Word of God in a great local church. Blessings!

Jeremiah 1:5-8—“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as My prophet to the nations.” 6 “O Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I can’t speak for You! I’m too young!” 7 The Lord replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. 8 And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you.” (NLT)

What does it mean to be “set apart” by God and for God?

Why is GOD SENDING US into the world to make it more like Him a greater predictor of our success than how old or “mature” we are?

EXTRA REFLECTION: Why does God always seem to be needing to instill courage in people in the Bible?

Father, it’s not always easy to talk about You with others. Since not everyone believes in You or believes in You the same way I do, it feels like I am putting my friendships or my reputation at risk when I talk mention an interest in You to others who will judge me on these things. So, please plant courage and kindness in me when I do since I know You made me for a purpose. It’s by Your name I pray and ask this, Amen.
